blogbashing
there's a good amount of blogbashing and immature name calling (SO uncalled for really) going around these days, people complaining about the content of other people's blogs. a few have a problem with blogs that deal with poetry and politics.they say people only do it seeking "love and attention" and other people's comments. oh, and that those people are actually hypocrites and attention seeking "idiots" (!), and not as smart as the blogbashers who "see right through them" (are you kidding me? why do you keep on visiting then?). so people can blogbash as much as they like, everyone is entitled to blog about whatever he or she likes, no matter how idiotic i think it is, it's still their right.
so here's what i think: i find it completely rediculous! with all due respect, every blogger is seeking attention in one form or another, or else they would be writing an offline diary.also, there are different forms of gaining attention, some are healthy (sharing information, political and non-political debates and opinions, art and literature..i think it's really cultivating), and some are not (blogbashing, negativity, religious and social disrespect..). that's my opinion at least.so to everyone who does not know how comments function: people's comments on posts are a form of communication and sharing of ideas and stories and opinions..it's totally cool. and it's really so so sad that you guys don't see it this way, sad for you i mean, you're missing out on so much! come on give it a try, you can leave your prejudgements behind for a few minutes!

so people can create beautiful things all they want, and bashers can bash them all they want (why oh why i wonder) and i can ramble on all i want (probably wont, the sun is finally out)! it's a free world here at blogland..well except for china.

Amen Lila. Amen. Blogging is a way of communicating, sharing, expressing, reflecting, learning and making friends. It's simply an online version of our humanity. We do it all wethere there is blogging or not. We all want to express ourselves. We all need attention (side note here: scientists believe that if you leave a new born baby for a few hours without touching the poor child, he/she will die) and of course we all need to communicate with each others, we're social creatures. Better be good, positive, honest and constructive.
Laila, I know who you're talking about and we had an off-blog conversation. The post, it seems, was not a non-descript attack on all bloggers, which is what you and I and many others understood. Supposedly, this targeted specific bloggers/aquaintances over specific posts. This, if true, was clearly miscommunicated. And since I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, I believed it and moved on :)
where is that post?
Are we getting all too over-sensitive? You guys sound like you need some sort of group hug or something.
What do you care if someone bashes you Laila? I've noticed that you are not at home with criticism.
This has turned from a generalising statement of 'there are many blogger bashers out there' to 'there is that specific one'. Don't hide behind the shadow of a finger. If you are upset, confront the person, or just deal with it.
who's not at home with criticism?
sounds like the pot calling the kettle back beej
fouad, as i said, it's not only one blog, i've seen it a few times in the past few months.and again, everyone is free to write whatever and think whatever, and I in turn am entitled to find name calling and blogbashing repulsive..but thanks for the clarification :)
beej ya beej, actually I did not feel personally attacked at all, I don't write serious poems and my blog is not a political one..sorry to disappoint you! try reading some of my posts just to make sure.
and as i said to fouad, i wouldn't have posted about this if it was one blog, but i've seen it in several places. the reason why I don't leave comments on their blogs is that i try as much as possible to eliminate negativity in my comments to people. if i have something useful to say i will, but negative thoughts, i prefer to keep to myself.
and trust me i will confront if i have a personal problem, who was it that i dealt with concerning an insomnia post?? you of all people should know better.
Please adjust your seat to its full upright position.
"Please adjust your seat to its full upright position." wow...deep :)
and concerning me not taking criticism well, i respectfully disagree, i actually think it's a lot of fun, like you here for example. and anyway, what did you base your statement on?
Hey Beej how about you behave on my baby's blog or GTFO of here? she wasn't even talking about you ya fruit loop so you should take your own advice before you come on here and mess with her.
LC thanks babes :), but no need for that..
it's all good, beej is just expressing himself and he's welcome to do so.
