I was naive enough to think that they would definitely make it out of this alive, i mean surely.
so, when we get to a point where a 25 year old is kidnapped and killed because of his political affiliations, you would think that we have reached the lowest of all lows. but when a 12 year old child is murdered because of his family's political affiliations, what do you do? how do you process this information? how do you proceed from here on? and how do you force yourself to move beyond the fact that a human being (in a country you (used to?) consider a part of what defines you) has actually murdered a 12 year old child FULLSTOP?

i sympathize with you. in Israel, terrorists have been killing children for many years. A few years ago a Hamas terrorist shot and killed a Jewish infant baby.

How do you process this? You don't really process it; you put something in place of processing it --a prayer, an angry cry, a sharp pain-- and you keep breathing. At first, breathing is the hard part, but you keep doing it, and it gets easier; the praying and the crying and the hurting stay with you. Eventually, if you keep breathing, the praying and crying and hurting are not so painful; like a bandage, if you leave them on long enough, when they come off the empty space underneath them has scarred over. You will never get back the piece of yourself that you lost, but the scars become part of who you are, and you are their interpreter.
Politics is something that appalls me to the highest degree. It s similar to religion in this context. Politics supposed to be created to defend your rights and make sure you prosper, but leaders take advantage of that and robbe you blind and lead you like sheep to the slaughter house...
Religions main existence is to give you joy and happiness here on planet earth, but it s been twisted to put "fear (as for fear to go to hell.ect)" as main tool to get you to obey what they say..So it became also politics..Who suffers in the name of politics and religions? we all do...
