sunday
are you happy at work?
if yes, rub it in and tell me why.
if not, then what are you hanging on to? are you miserable? indifferent?
there, you even get to listen to this divine voice while thinking about it

The acid test is whether you take any pleasure in responding to the question "What do you do?" I can't bear it.

love the song
work-sometimes you have to step outside of it all and think abt what makes you happy, otherwise it's so not worth it
i like jij's quote. i can't bear talking about what i do. i don't even like to explain it. i guess you already know that but now what... i'm trying to figure that out.
Another litmus test is how it feels on Monday morning, when driving to work. esp. if you have enough time to think while driving.
Not happy. But I am not going to be doing it for the rest of my life, and that is what makes me bear it.
"Every day in others I see anxiety, anger, bewilderment, guilt, shame, doubt and sorrow - often in painful intensity. Often, I feel these emotions myself. But equally, every day, I also witness tranquillity, acceptance, understanding, forgiveness, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-control and joy in those around me." (Patrick Whiteside, in the Guardian)
work itself is never the issue for me. it's always dealing with the colleagues' interpersonnal issues that stresses me out.
yeah...I'm happy when the work shift is over and it's time to go home....I love my work...hehe!
I hope my work won't lost long.
it's monday morning...and i work 8 days a week...

I hate my work. Although I am my own boss and I get paid well.
There is this saying that I love: "Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar."
--Drew Carey
okay I hate to be a party pooper, but I am very happy at work and I LOVE WHAT I DO. the people are extremely nice... and I spend most of my day creating worlds and spaces for ppl I don't know. I design cities, and worlds, and with a flick of a pencil, I can displace 30.000 living creatures (ppl, fauna, flora). how hot is that?
creation, design, aesthetics, building.
the only downer is that in my field, we work hard and study alot but the financial reward is very modique.
but as Frank Lloyd Wright (a great architect) once said:
"it is not the riches that are important in life, but the luxuries you offer yourself". I try to live by that...
I couldn't imagine myself doing any other job... If I am not designing architecture... I would be teaching it.
well that's not true... I would also love to be a CSI.
sunday blues. who does not have them!
I feel we needed more time before deciding on our careers. In fact, with time, we get to realize what we like.
I am not sure why I chose my profession, maybe for the wrong reasons, maybe I did not know enough.
We always say " if i can go back in time, I would not choose the same career".
I learned, am learning, to deal with that. Instead of waking up everyday at 6 and going to work depressed, I decided to enjoy it, as much as I can. Sometimes it works, many times, it does not. but what the hell, it's worth it.
But is it all about work?
I agree with you Paul, I know I was limited with choices (financial problems for one). I didn't think through of what I wanted and I just assumed if I was good at something in school then I should keep studying it. I know am not happy now and I would rather do something else.
There was no proper orientation, there still isn't, and in my time there was almost none.
I'm gonna sit right beside _z on this one and safely and honestly say that I enjoy waking up and going to work every morning. It's also the only reason that makes being here for another winter less depressing. Enno my job is basic, not a "WOW" or "Ya Latif" type of job bass I love it and the company is fantastic. What I love the most is that the people on my team think that I'm Godsend.. what else can I ask for? lol
Following up on some comments, akid I could have asked for a University degree masalan, which NOW I regret not having li anno without it I feel that I'm stuck here and in non-WOW jobs, bass I guess no one has it all in life, eh? Maybe Paris Hilton, Bush-al-sagheer, or George Clooney? :) Not the kind of jobs I'm fit for anyways... Neshkour Allah!
funny one, burned, that Drew Carey quote! As for my work, well it's not so bad, considering i'm finally starting to do what i've always wanted to do. but i know the road is long and the obstacles are many, but hey i got a few decades to figure out how to overcome those.
paul, if i could back in time, i would start on my journey earlier, but then again i would never have known that had i not gotten all the experiences that have brought me to this very conclusion.
3am bitfalsaf, cloe, sorry eh? : )
beer anyone?
I am very happy at work, I take photos for a living it pays for my edumacashun. Now the day when it stops being fun I'll put the camera down.
