you know when you cant remember who you are anymore?

when you wake up one day to this strange place, to this cold feeling, and you slowly forget what it was that made you laugh uncontrollably, that made you cry when you catch a hint of sadness in someone's eyes.

and you think that you have become this numb clump of flesh and blood. who smiles and says thank you, i'm sorry, have a great weekend, i'm tired and i just want to stay in bed all day. and it's cold outside anyway.

my friends visited this weekend. my old friends.
i saw my reflection in the water.

Don't worry, the you- who- you- were will always be with you, but the you- that- you- are- becoming is more beautiful, though at times it is hard to believe, hard to see in your reflection. Have faith, you will not lose yourself.

Artwork without pain is empty, and you were never that.

do you think I know?
What you just described goes through my head every morning, every day. It is called HSS, home-sick syndrome. and it hurts.

When I first looked at the picture without reading the words, I saw beautifully naked trees out in the open field as the night closes but they don't seem to mind, they are not scared nor do they wish it was brighter..it s perfect just as it is intended
