Those who have not woken up by now do not want to wake up. They prefer their dreams. Of peace. Love. Tranquility.
The parents of those children will only be able to visit them in their dreams. Remembering how scared they were in a basement of building. On the front line of Israeli terror.
And as they cowered beneath the barrage of blind hate. They died. Instantly. Mercilessly. And scared.
What a horrible death. Young. Scared. Murdered.
Yes, people don't want to wake up. They're too afraid of what they'll see.
It is sad that Iraq was invaded on the belief they had WMD. Yet Israel has demonstrated that they not only have WMD but they are willing to use them.
I have listened in disgust to the political pundits attempt to not only revise the historical events of this crisis but also put the blame of civilian deaths in Lebanon squarely on Hezbollah. I believe the world in general is not falling for this spin doctoring and the images speak for themselves.
These horrific acts must come to an end. Most importantly Israel and her allies must stop fooling themselves into believing that the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians is the fault of Hezbollah. They are the ones dropping the bombs and they are the ones cutting off the escape of civilians that other wise would leave the area.

Again this is revisionist history. Hezbollah did cross the border and attack soldiers. Soldiers! This is deemed acceptable in warfare. Israel then proceeded to decimate South Lebanon and cut off the escape of any innocent person trying to flee.
We have to stop the nonsense that Hezbollah is hiding behind civilians. Weather they are or not how does that ever give a country the right to indiscriminately blow up innocent people? I could see if Israeli bombs knew exactly where the Hezbollah fighters were and then blew up that house but they don't.
We tend to think that this is hot pursuit. That an Israeli fighter pilot saw his target run into a specific house and then blew it up. That is not what is happening and if it does it is a rare case. They pick a target, and we have seen that the target could even be a U.N. post, and then they pull the trigger and they could care less who they kill.
The same holds true for Hezbollah. None of them really could care who is killed. It is all madness. The point is that Israel is supposed to be better than that. At least that is what we in the U.S. are fed day in and day out. Israel and the U.S. have shown that diplomacy is always the last option and killing to gain the objective of so called liberty is ok.
Shame in Israel, shame on Hezbollah, and shame on the U.S. for turning a blind eye to these war crimes.
Like it or not, the deaths of these innocents lays at the feet of Hezbollah's leader, not Israel. Real men, real leaders do not hide behind women and children when they decide to wage war. Hezbollah members are lowly swine who should be marched down the streets in dresses so that the citizens of Lebanon see them as the pansies they truly are.

I agree! The problem is people on both sides accept killing as being ok. Real men don't kill! They find a way to talk it out.
Again, nothing justifies killing innocent people. You can tell yourself that over and over again to try and sleep at night but it will never be true. This is not self defense!
I am no Hezbollah apologist but apparently the people of Lebanon support the work they have done specifically the social programs. The U.S. throws the label terrorist around and expects people to just accept that label. I am not saying that Hezbollah are not terrorists but there must be a fine line between terrorist and sovereign nation. What do we call our U.S. troops that rape Iraqi children and kill unarmed families? I'll tell you what we call them. We say they are suffering from the stresses of war! Hogwash! What is true for one murderer must be the same for the other.
It is all madness on both sides. It is sad that people are trying to get the world to form the opinion that so called self defense would be ok in this instance. The world is not buying it. We were already sold a bill of goods on Iraq so I doubt people have the stomach for this.
I am certain that the dead do not want their memory desecrated by calls for revenge, princess monoke. It is time that we rise above the hatred and break the vicious cycle of violence otherwise we will be no just as despicable as the ones that we are blaming.

Israel is going to lose this one. The have nowhere to go. They just shut themselves in the foot today with the pornography in Qana. Senioura won't meet with Rice anymore; now he's basically demanding the same thing as Hezbollah, which is an immediate ceasefire. If we can hold on until the ceasefire, I think we are heading towards a real historical accomplishment.
Israel is doing what it must to protect it's citizens. The courageous Hezbollah fighters are hiding behind children and their leadership hopes that these innocents will be killed for their propaganda war. Seems like the strategy is working for the time being. The 48 hour truce will be upheld by the Israelis while the bombings from Lebanon continue. I predict that eventually the gloves will come off and the Lebanese will really feel the pain. I fear that those within Lebanon that are willing to fight against the fascist Islamics have either been killed or run off. This is a war of ideas free thinking society or one that is enslaved by a religion that demands strict adherence with the penalty often means death.

IDF claimed it was a mistake at that time.
To refresh your memories,the first Qana massacre took away the lives of 100's of children
It was investigated by Amnesty International and they concluded:
"The IDF intentionally attacked the UN compound, although the motives for doing so remain unclear. The IDF have failed to substantiate their claim that the attack was a mistake. Even if they were to do so they would still bear responsibility for killing so many civilians by taking the risk to launch an attack so close to the UN compound".
Human rights watch said about that massacre:
"The decision of those who planned the attack to choose a mix of high-explosive artillery shells that included deadly anti-personnel shells designed to maximize injuries on the ground -- and the sustained firing of such shells, without warning, in close proximity to a large concentration of civilians -- violated a key principle of international humanitarian law".
This is not lebanese propaganda. These are independent international organizations conducting objective research. and their conclusions are obvious.

With all due respect to you, I do not think you are the informed American you claim you are. Before I explain, I would like to note that no one on this blog is actually going to bite you for revealing who you are or expressing your opinions, even if hypothetically speaking you are one of those employed to support the IDF propaganda campaign on the net.
From your last post it seems that the justification behind your opinion is mainly driven by the generic stereotypical stuff that go around the media. Informed Americans don't stereotype, and rarely listen to any media. I'll respond to the comments that caught my eye, and hope that there is some sort of civilised dialogue here. I personally dont think these discussions go anywhere, but communication does ease the understanding from both sides.
-- You can disagree anywhere in the Middle East and not get beheaded.You only get beheaded in Saudi Arabia if you rape, kill, or traffic drugs. Its like putting someone on deathrow, but with more principles around it.

Yes, there has been a long and historical struggle between Israel and the Arab world. That is a huge subject to discuss, but remember where the casualties weigh more.

-- The US never has to re-deploy any armies if they choose to attack anyone. Your taxpayer money also funds permanent military bases spread around the Middle East.
-- Your tax-payer money is supposed to fund every American citizen's pursuit of the American Dream, not the budget deficit.
-- America will never become like France as you say because the demographic setup does not naturally allow for such a thing. Mind you however that the number of Muslims in the US is almost the same as France except that the proportion of that with respect to the total population obviously differs.
-- Muslims and Arabs who live in North America actually like it, and immigrated there in pursuit of the same ambitions as every other non-American immigrant
-- Prayers actually take no more than 5-10 minutes each

It is a great thing we all speak English. I don't think I would have survived under a German led world either. And yes, Carter and Kerry were not that great candidates, but rest assured that the principles in American Foreign policy remain consistent from presidency to the other as far as bottom lines are concerned.

We have a family of Lebanese living in our apartment block. While I certainly can't generalise about all Lebanese these particular ones are the most inconsiderate, ignorant, selfish fuckers that I've ever met. They shout at the tops of their voices at every opportunity, play football in the corridors (indoors) when there's a local park nearby, and leave litter everywhere. When you approach them they pretend not to understand, despite us being able to speak to them in French as well as English. So thank goodness the war has ended and these wankers can go home. Maybe Israel bombed their country because they were making too much noise over there :)
